Got a nice little stack of Cinema Two editions in at the minute, published by Secker & Warburg throughout the 70s these were a sister series to their Cinema One books. Apposed to the introductory nature of Cinema One, these offered a more in-depth look into the featured directors and cinematic movements that their authors focused on.

This particular edition is on The Ambiguous Image: Narrative Style in Modern European Cinema apposed to delving in to one specific director. It has chapters on Buñuel, Melville, Antonioni, Tati, Bresson, Bergman, Resnais, Pasolini and Godard among others. So all the big hitters.

Also any book with Monica Vitti and Alain Delon on the cover should belong on your bookshelf.
