The Love Parade in Berlin was one of the biggest parties in the world. One weekend in 1996 three-quarters of a million dancing, sweating, techno fans paraded through the streets of the city. The photographer Alfred Steffen set up of roadside studio and documented more than 250 people across a 36-hour session. Portrait of a Generation is made up of 140 of the best photos from this session, creating an incredible document of the era, the people and the clothes.
