Midnight Cowboy by James Leo Herlihy
Midnight Cowboy by James Leo Herlihy
As I’ve said before movie tie-in book covers are usually dreadful BUT there are exceptions to the rule. Usually if the film came out in the seventies or starred Al Pacino, well this one came out in 1969 and definitely makes the cut. Another classic example of the brilliant work Panther books were doing during this era.
The film adaptation came out in 1969, starring Dustin Hoffman as Ratso and Jon Voight as Joe. It depicted the second half of the book, with events from the first half condensed or briefly seen as flashbacks. It’s currently available to stream on Amazon Prime and Freevee, definitely worth checking out the @criterioncollection remaster blu ray too.
