Lynch on Lynch (edited by Chris Rodley)
Lynch on Lynch (edited by Chris Rodley)
‘The sensation of ‘uncanniness’ was an especially difficult feeling to define. Neither absolute terror nor mild anxiety, the uncanny seemed easier to describe in terms of what it was not, than in any essential of it’s own.’
This quote from Architectural historian and critic Anthony Vidler perfectly opens the introduction for this great collection of interviews and essays that continues Faber and Faber’s directors series. This time focussing on the late great David Lynch. Covering his iconic filmography from Blue Velvet, Lost Highway, Eraserhead, Twin Peaks and my personal favourite Wild at Heart. Have already posted a fair few Lynch related bits and have quite a lot coming over the next couple weeks too for any fans of Mullholland Drive and The Straight Story.
Now go have two cookies and a coke, phenomenal.
