Luis Buñuel: A Critical Biography by Francisco Aranda (CinemaTwo)
Luis Buñuel: A Critical Biography by Francisco Aranda (CinemaTwo)
Got a nice little stack of Cinema Two editions in at the minute, published by Secker & Warburg throughout the 70s these were a sister series to their Cinema One books. Apposed to the introductory nature of Cinema One, these offered a more in-depth look into the featured directors and cinematic movements that their authors focused on.
This particular edition is on Belle de Jour director and surrealist Luis Buñuel. The Spanish / Mexican director is still regarded as one of the greatest filmmakers of all time, and this edition is stacked with beautiful black and white stills from his films.
Also, any book with Catherine Deneuve on the cover should belong on your bookshelf.
