King Ink II by Nick Cave (First Edition)

Nick Cave's follow up to King Ink - King Ink II. This second collection of Nick Cave's song lyrics and other writings covers the period from the ground breaking album Tender Prey to the sublime simplicity of The Boatman's Call (his devastating break up album following his split from PJ Harvey). In addition to all Cave's lyrics record with The Bad Seeds during this time, King Ink II includes several lyrics that were as yet unrecorded at the time of publishing. As well as a number written for other artists and for the Wim Wenders film Faraway, So Close! (the underrated and under seen sequel to Wings of Desire) and Until the End of the World. A short film treatment and a substantial essay on the subject of language and the Bible, "The Flesh Made Word," are among further material which is not available elsewhere. It also includes sketches, drawings and collages by Cave.

So we've got three copies of this beautiful book. A signed first edition, a signed reprint that was signed at his performance at the Royal Festival Hall in London 30th March 1999 (which also includes a newspaper cutting review of the gig) and an unsigned first edition.
