King Ink by Nick Cave

Beautiful and scarce little copy of the first published collection of Nick Cave’s lyrics, songwriting and poetry. Featuring all the lyrics which he recorded with his bands The Birthday Party and The Bad Seeds up to and including the album Your Funeral, My Trial, plus a large number of lyrics which have never been recorded or which were commissioned by other bands. Also included are several prose pieces, nine individual short plays and a sequence of five plays on the Salomé legend.

This collection was later republished by his long time friend and ex Black Flag frontman Henry Rollins. Rollins began his own publishing imprint and record label, 2.13.61 (his birth date) to publish his own writings and musing but expand to feature some of his friends and collaborators, including Michael Gira (SWANS) and Iggy Pop.
