'Dream baby dream, Forever' - Alan Vega

Very scarce and overlooked encapsulation of the New York scene in the 1970s by photographer Stephanie Chernikowski. Published on Henry Rollins imprint 2.13.61 and featuring an excerpt of 'Go Now' by Richard Hell, Dream Baby Dream is one of the best photobooks from the blank generation.

Stephanie Chernikowski, a Texas-born photographer, moved to New York City in 1975, finding a small loft in the Bowery owned by Andy Warhol where she lived until her death in May 2026. After moving to New York she quickly became a fixture at clubs like CBGBs, where she captured some of the chaos on and off the stage. Her book features John Lurie, The Cramps, Ramones, Blondie, the Patti Smith Group, Burroughs, Warhol, Sonic Youth, Nico, Suicide, Iggy Pop, The Damned and many more icons.
