Originally written and published as The Executioners, John D. MacDonald's novel was later adapted twice into films and republished as Cape Fear.
The first adaptation was in 1962 starring Gregory Peck and Robert Mitchum. This was later remade in 1991 by Martin Scorsese. Starring an enthralling performance by Robert De Niro, alongside Nick Nolte, Jessica Lange and Juliette Lewis.
Highly recommend checking out both films if you haven't already. The later of which is currently available on Netflix in the UK.
