‘What is not in the open street is false derived, that is to say, literature.’
A book of ten short stories by Henry Miller, published first in 1936 by the Obelisk Press in Paris. Black Spring was Miller's second published book, following Tropic of Cancer and preceding Tropic of Capricorn, but is seen as the third in the trilogy. In it’s seductive technicolor swirl of Paris and New York, he captures the blending of people and the cities they inhabit.
Like Tropic of Cancer and Capricorn, the book is dedicated to Anaïs Nin.
A bit battered but still an all timer and fairly hard to come by. Black Cat books didn’t miss.
