For eighteen days James Lord sat while his friend Alberto Giacometti painted his portrait. He documented the process in photographs and in turn produced his own literary portrait of one of the great artists of the twentieth century. The book is a beautiful and intimate account of Lord and Giacometti's encounters, of friendship and art.
